Soar through a breathtaking musical landscape at Yakima Symphony Chorus’s annual spotlight concert, in partnership with the Yakima Valley College choirs. Featuring soaring melodies and celestial harmonies, this program celebrates the majesty of the sky—from the brilliance of the sun to the power of the storm. Experience the artistry of the Symphony Chorus as they take center stage for an evening of transcendent choral music.
In his first year as chorusmaster, Steven Slusher placed an emphasis on expanding the roster of singers and established a Young Artist Program to provide leadership opportunities for emerging professional singers and conductors. Nearing the completion of his second year, the chorus has reached 100+ singers of the highest quality. Recently, the YSC served as the chorus in the Yakima Symphony Orchestra's recording of Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 2 "Lobgesang" (Hymn of Praise). Yakima Symphony Chorus rehearses on Monday evenings during the YSO season and is open to all singers in the community without an audition requirement. Interested singers should contact us!
