Compensation:
- Section per-service rate: $91.00
- Assistant Principal per-service rate: $110.00
- Travel stipend based on mileage and home-stay housing provided for commuting members (permanent residence further than 20 miles to Yakima)
- Typical 45 services per season, scheduled in 1–3-day condensed sets.

The YSO seeks cellists who demonstrate consistent musical excellence, strong ensemble skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive working environment.
Winning candidates of titled positions (Assistant Principal Cello) should be prepared to lead their sections when needed. This includes collaborating with the librarian and string principals on bowings, providing musical leadership, and setting a tone of professionalism and collegiality. All musicians are expected to bring reliability, professionalism, and a dedication to high artistic standards in both rehearsal and performance.

- A one-page resumé which includes your contact info (name, email address, physical address and phone number), as well as relevant work experience and education. Submit to Operations Manager Dan Krantz at krantz@ysomusic.org.
- Applicants must send a refundable deposit for $100 with a check made payable to the Yakima Symphony Orchestra, mailed to: attn. Operations Manager, 32 N 3rd St., Suite 333, Yakima, WA 98901. Deposit will be returned at audition or if cancellation is made at least 2 days prior to the audition day. Your deposit must be mailed no later than Friday, November 14th in order to secure an audition time.
- The successful candidate must hold valid U.S. work authorization documents.
- Audition will be held in Yakima, WA.

Additional Information
- Typical season runs September through May; 10 concert sets totaling 45 services per season.
- Tenured and tenure-track musicians may be eligible for YSO Teaching Artist positions with El Sistema-based program Yakima Music en Acción.
- The Audition Committee of the Yakima Symphony Orchestra reserves the right to dismiss immediately any candidate not meeting the highest professional standards at these auditions.
- If titled positions are won by current members of the YSO, their seat may be offered to a runner-up.
