2025 Year-End Match Challenge

Dear Music Lovers of the Yakima Valley,

For over fifty years, the generosity of Yakima Valley music lovers like you have enriched our community with marvelous expressions of the human heart, mind, and spirit, and has made the Yakima Symphony Orchestra the Musical Heart of Yakima Valley.

How? Great live performances of beloved classics and contemporary music cherished by people all around the world, that’s how. Recent exhilarating and profoundly moving performances include Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 “Pastoral,” Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 “The Titan,” and Verdi’s great Requiem, in the unforgettable context of its performance by defiant prisoners in the Nazi concentration camp at Terezín.

Join us in the coming months for more music by Johann Strauss Jr., favorites by Aaron Copland, Richard Strauss, and Beethoven, and our season finale featuring Carl Orff’s choral masterpiece Carmina Burana with the Yakima Symphony Chorus. Beyond repertoire of beloved classics, the Symphony
showcases other noteworthy music by composers including John Williams, Jill Haley, Nancy Ives, and Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate.

And Pops concerts! Don’t miss our Holiday Spectacular on December 7, and plan ahead to enjoy American Western yodeling by Wylie and the Wild West in March.

As this year ends, we invite you to continue Yakima Valley’s tradition of generous support for the Yakima Symphony Orchestra. Your generous financial gifts affirm—

DOUBLE YOUR DOLLARS! Your gift received by Wednesday, December 31 to support live symphonic music and music education in Yakima Valley will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $130,000 by several leading Symphony supporters and Board members.
