Yakima Youth Symphony Orchestra awarded $6,000 by ArtsFund through its invitation only Youth Arts Opportunity Fund grant program. This gift is in recognition of the Yakima Youth Symphony Orchestra's commitment to increasing access to and participation in meaningful, robust, sustained arts experiences for historically underserved youth across Washington State.

The Yakima Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Yakima Ensemble for String is an after-school program that enhances public school music education through affordable and accessible symphonic experiences and one-on-one instruction for youth ages 8 to 21 in the Yakima Valley. Auditions and registration open for both ensembles through October 12.
